Rash with little red pin prick . What causes it
I've just started with this too but on both of my feet and legs. From what I've learned through asking about it can be caused by drugs, ageing, an underlying condition such as Lupus, exposure to sunlight, a type of thrombosis (I think it's called Thrombocytopenia?)- it depends entirely on your own history. The spots themselves are called Petechiae I think. Sorry can't be more help but if you are worried then best to ask a doctor.
I think take photos and ask your doctor . as twitchy says there are lots of causes but our immune systems do seem to throw rashes our way. !! Let us know what he says I would be interested if you would? X
If it blanches (the red dots disappear) then likely to be an inflammation of some sort, perhaps a reaction to something you have come into contact with if it's just on one side.
If it doesn't blanch, then petechiae - small leaks of blood into the skin from the capillaries, the smallest blood vessels, is more likely. This can be a drug reaction, or from pressure on that part of your body, changes in your blood causing the leakage, or the disease itself.
You need a diagnosis from a doctor or nurse specialist.
Sounds like a Roscea rash.
from antibiotics sometimes...
