What's it like in Houston? I've been invited by friends to visit them and I would love to go! I live in Scotland and have had RA for 30yrs.

During this time I have discovered my joints are badly affected by humidity... the flare up can leave me bedridden. Even spending holidays with my family in warmer parts England in the summertime can cause problems. My friends are keen for me to visit but don't understand the complications

Hi L1zzy

I have actually visited Houston, Texas myself during the summer months. I found the humidity there in July to be very high. You can check the climate of Houston on the links below. The one from the Met Office is a five day forecast but gives a good indication of how the humidity affects the climate there.

Hope this helps

Hello

Texas ??, nice warm state, have had a severe lack of rain for a long time so it will not be a problem.

Get those bones some heat

All the best, enjoy

Hi, visited relatives in Houston several years ago. We were there in early November and didn't find the humidity a problem, although I know it can be very severe at times. It's also possible to get from Houston to much drier parts of Texas, which you may find beneficial to your joints. Have a great time if you decide to go.
