Hope your treatment goes well and that you have minimal side effects! Once you get started you will know how your body reacts to the meds so the period of not knowing and worrying is over. Wishing you all the best, Debs

Had a reaction Monday never been so scared in all my life felt like my lungs were collapsing I couldnā€™t breath my face went really red and tight and my eyes went red to, Lillie ran out to get help then 3 nurses came running in thatā€™s all I remember I went all floppy and passed out for a few seconds. Honestly I thought I was going g to die, they stopped the machine and put other stuff on then I came back round, after an hour they started the chemo again and I was ok, went back yesterday for round 2 but I was ok, I just feel a bit groggy and sick at the moment xxx

I know how you felt hoping and praying for a better reaction. Some will be better then others. One day and one treatment at a time

First treatment didnā€™t go as planned, I had a reaction to Rituximab went really red faced could hardly breath very close to passing out, the nurses were quick to sort me out...

for a week I felt sick and being sick the sickness tablets didnā€™t short breaths and not a lot of energy, exactly one week later and I feel back to normal,

Hi Esther66. Glad you are feeling back to normal it must have been scary. I hope your following treatments go as planned. I have heard that people can react to rituximab and in that case they infuse it very slowly sometimes overnight?

It is worth asking that question to your doctors if you can do it that way.

Apparently it wonā€™t happen again because my body has experience it now... my next chemo is on the 12th March so we shall see ...

Hi just started treatment two weeks ago-first round Bendamustine only due to IgM levels and risk of Flare on Rituximab. HaVE FIRST ROUND OF rituximab ON 9TH May, hope it goes well fingers crossed. Benda went well other that my pleural effusion got worse not linked to treatment and had to have 4L of fluid drained from my chest which gave great reloef and now allows me to undertake normal activities without being out of breath.

Dear TOG15, my lymphoma presented with a plural effusion as well. Fluid was drained prior to diagnosis and then later when the biopsy was done. It never returned after treatment,. I'm hoping yours will be the same. Take care.

My husband has his 2nd R&B tomorrow & is having a Port inserted today. Remember to drink bunches of water for a couple of days & also if you were told to take Claritin after Neulasta, make sure it is not generic. A nurse told use that she has noticed that the generic does not work in some patients. Best wishes!
