Acupuncture update

I had my first acupuncture treatment for chronic back and neck pain. It went well, but I did have an increase in pain about an hour later. Rested the remainder of the day, drank tons of water and took pain meds and it settled down. I don't feel any improvement, but I have three more Tuesday treatments upcoming.

Stick with it as it can take time -it is culmulative in its efffect. It can also take time for your acupuncturist to get to know you, your system and how you respond. Good luck

You are introducing a new treatment to your body and it may take time for your body to adjust. Keep positive thoughts and reassess once treatment is finished. The old saying of nothing ventured, nothing gained comes to mind. Sending positive energy your way.

Thank you tinkerbellcgy. I truly needed to hear this today. It is very hard to be positive sometimes, but I know that I have to give this course of treatment a chance.

Thank you Judyhoneycomb. I am so grateful that my NHL is now in remission. Yes, I had steroid shots in my neck and back and also took three courses of prednisone. The shots didn't help, but the pills helped the tingling in my arms and legs. My PCP suggested today, that the recent damp and cold weather may be responsible for my increased discomfort. I agree with her.

Oh dear... sorry those didn't help. Glad to hear you are in remission. I agree, it is cold here in Iowa, rainy, damp, no sun for 5 days... I get achy, breaky,.... May the sun shine on all of us and bring us smiles, and relief... Good luck....and heal well....

This week I had my second acupuncture treatment for neck/shoulder and low back pain. Although I didn't have the pain afterward like I did with the first treatment, I'm not seeing any improvement yet. I understand that it may take more treatments to see results, so I'm still hopeful.
