as it turned out, in hindsight, a couple of the several doctors I saw , agreed that the timing of when the biopsy is performed on a lesion is decisive in determining Nodular PRURIGO. the first two biopsies performed on me were done too late and too early, respectively. the first simply determined that it was an insectt/spider bite. then, the second time it was done too early, it gave folliculitis as the verdict. six months later I opted to have two biopsies on two moiety lesions simultaneously, and bingo , what one doctor and myself had had a hard time proving, finally gave us the result we expected, namely nodular prurigo. it was terribly frustrating to hear top specialists becoming most adamant in their misdiagnosis of my condition. I feel I should have sued them for their incompetence, with their two to three minutes' diagnoses, one declarede I have "achne necrotica" and the other wanted to refer me to a psychiatrist, saying he is certain that it is a nervous disorder, neuropathological, and stress is the cause behind my incessant itching. bloody nonsense. thankfully I did have two other doctors who do understand my condition well enough to know that the picking is the result of my discomfort and not the other way around.
