I am the Mother of an adopted son from age 3 months to his present age in his 30's who does not communicate with me other than expecting me to pay his bills. He has also become very thoughtless re: my feelings. He was diagnosed Thanksgiving weekend. I also have a family history dating back 50+ years on my Mother's side whom I cared for with my Father and then alone for an additional 3 years so I worry a great deal about how he is taking care of himself. I would like to talk with others in a similar situation and find a healthy way for him to include me on this journey other than just paying his bills. I have been estranged from my family since my parents' death more than 10+ years. I would like to develop an open and healthy communication with him to show my moral support as well as financial. I am a senior citizen.
