1. That it wasn’t my fault.2. That while serious and life-changing, with care it can be manageable.
3. That my child can still do most of the things kids without CKD can do.
4. Better tips and recipes for optimal kidney health - such as plant-based, and recipes the whole family can enjoy.
5. More honest conversations from my child’s care team around what lies ahead… even if the answer is “we don’t know, but we will monitor closely and stay on top of it!” And more information on the why and how of kidney disease; trust parents/caregivers to be informed & intelligent enough to grasp this information.
6. Blood typing for my child; we had to FIGHT to get this simple blood test done, since it is no longer routinely done at birth.
