The first helpful tip on managing my son's disease would be knowledge. You have to know what you're working with in order to provide the best care possible. The 2nd tip would be being able to ask for help when you need it. Whether it be with new problems that arise within your child or even old symptoms that you haven't put much thought into...Being able to ask doctors (pediatrician or nephrologist) if those symptoms are normal, and if so, what to do from there is very helpful. Last but not least...Being accountable for your child. Following diets as best as you can, giving medications appropriately, documenting blood pressures etc...Will hopefully help greatly with treatments/care.
