As I watch the news concerning Congress and extending the debt limit and financing government I have concern about if the reality of not financing medicare could happen and what would happen for people like me who depend on medicare and social security to pay for it? Any thoughts and how can such action be corrected?

Hello, Erica. We have not gotten any word that congress will stop funding Medicare. If that ever were to happen, we would make it our job to inform kidney patients that this is about to happen so that they may start exploring other insurance options.

That’s not going to happen in this Congress. If I could place a bet on that, I would bet the house. It’s politics and theatre.

Hope you are right but Jan. 6 and covid response has me a little uncertain as to how Congress will do their best for the American people. At 72 I grew up in a time of unrest but nothing to this extreme where social security and Medicare was a political game.
