No I haven't. However it is my understanding that any type of cancer diagnosis will disqualify individuals for a transplant until the cancer is in remission for certain time. The medical reason is that the antirejection meds for transplant will likely lead to the metastasis of cancer.

I had a prostatectomy prior to being approved for kidney transplant. My PSA levels were high and the cancer concern with going on immunosuppressants was the trigger to have prostate removed so I could get transplant approval. I did get choice for cyber knife, but did not want to live with concern it may not be 100%, so out came the prostate. That was 4.5 years ago and have been wearing diapers since. My transplant was on 6/2/20 and recovery is going better than expected!

The immunosuppressants necessary for anti-rejection , make highly vulnerable to cancers .

I am told to regularly check for any changes , to be constantly be on look out for changes .

Although I can't be told what exactly what I'm looking for.

It is my supposition that the ant-rejection drugs would cause a return of your cancer .

Not what you're looking for?
