You call the center in which they are being evaluated and go through the process of education and evaluation.

Hello - I donated my kidney to my husband in 2011. The hospital where the transplant was done did the evaluation of myself as the donor. I was 64 years old and had tests some at the hospital and some locally where I live. The whole process took approximately 3 months. These tests showed the size of each of my kidneys as well as how they were functioning. Other tests were done to determine if I was compatible with my husband for donation. Other tests determined if I was healthy enough to give the kidney. I also had a session with the kidney transplant psychiatrist to evaluate my mental readiness to give a kidney. Six years later we are both doing well. I wish you the best.

I donated to a friend and she contacted me with the transplant staff at the hospital where she was seen. If you want to remain anonymous I guess you could find out what hospital that person goes to and talk to the team directly. The testing to check if you're a match took a few months for me.
