Hi, I've noticed your other posts about your hair. This seems to be of great concern to you. Have you asked your PCP for a referral to a Dermatologist or Endocrinologist? They are the specialist who will be able to diagnosis and help your hair loss problem. I don't think we can offer the assistance you need unless you just want validation of other with hair loss and breakage. My hair has broken off and used to fall out and as I've posted before I had blood tests and my Vit. D level was extremely low so taking Vit D and calcium are helping. Your hair loss may be from an entirely different reason so you need to see a Dr. and have the appropriate blood work. Everyone with CKD doesn't have hair loss issues. You need a Dr. to get the the root of the problem, no pun intended.

Are they actually broken hairs or are they new hairs growing in that are shorter than the rest of your hair?

Not sure, but they stick out all over and it looks terrible. I have colored my hair for years so I’m not sure what to do.

You might want to try some leave-in conditioner. As the weather gets colder those hairs get staticky and tend to stick out. By using the leave in, you might get them to stay down. I use Matrix Biolage leave-in cream.

Do you have kidney disease? What stage did you start having this hair issue?

Yep. Just cut it and moved on.

I've had a period where my hair got very dry and a few hairs seem to break off in the front. I stopped using hair spray as this only made my hair more brittle. And, I stopped using shampoo with sulfates. Not sure if this made a difference because at the time I was also low on Vitamin D similar to what another responder said. Most of my numbers are all in the normal range now and my hair is no onger dry and easily breakable. Hope this information helps. Good luck with yours.

I do have kidney issues but I think my problems are related to the blood pressure medication I am taking - 10 mg of Amlodipine and 75 mg of Metoprolol.
