Itch : Hi can someone please describe the... - Kidney Disease
Itch
I dunno if the itch that I have is kidney related or not. Very light but pretty consistent: scalp and back of hands typically. Comes and goes.
I would think it would be in various places.
Hi Kentucky. Itchy rashes can occur when kidneys no longer process phosphorus well. In that situation, binders can be taken too reduce phosphorus levels. But there are also many other causes including seasonal allergies and so forth. You may want to have your rash checked out. In the case of my husband, his rash was mainly on his back and shoulders and consisted of red blotches with blisters here and there. We used Dermoplast spray to calm it. There are pics of this type rash on the web. That's nothing worse than excruciating itching!
I found itching on my ankles and stomach and back at times and now use coconut oil lotion daily which helps. Plus eating less red meat protein helps me too, or less animal protein in general helps. Take care, BB
Hi, I don't have a rash or anything but my skin itches like I have mosquito bites, flea bites or poison oak.
It's my arms and scalp mostly but it rotates everywhere. I scratch the back of my arms so much that I have made blood blisters and torn my skin. I have read that it is from dry skin with Stage 4 (being dehydrated) so I use a lot of moisturizer and drink water. Nothing really seems to help. The only time I don't itch is in the shower. I'm going to be covered in scars soon if I don't figure out something to help. I know how a dog with fleas must feel.
