Not personally but my dad was taking it and after a while he started with a persistent cough and at times shortage of breath to the point it scared all of us. Also the meds that end in “pril” like ramapril have the same issues. I was on Ramapril and it was changed to Bisoporolol for that exact same reason. Contact your renal team or GP and explain it sounds like your sensitive to the main drug.

Thank you so much. Yes I have looked up different things and see that some say yes and some say no. I will talk with my Gp this is the only BP meds Sk far that I can even stand to take other were just awful

For me . And I have to do this one in 1/2 and my BP is still high but not as high as it is without it !

Hi Dan1234567! I looked up Losartan online and yes, it can cause a dry cough. I’ve attached the link below if you wish to read it over. Believe me, I know how you feel! I used to take a drug called Ramipril for my blood pressure and kidney issues that also caused a very irritating and frustrating cough. It was terrible. I used to work as an administrator at that time, in a busy office, answering Meridian lines, and every time I picked up the phone to speak, without fail, I would begin hacking up a storm! It was so embarrassing! Lol! People in neighbouring offices would actually come out to see if I was alright. Goodness gracious! Lol!

Hope the link is helpful to you! Take care! Bye for now! 😊👍✌️

Thank you so so much! Yes I don’t feel bad and it’s not all the time but when I cough it’s so annoying especially with everything going on. Thank you again

I’m taking 25mg a day. No cough. Perindopril gave me cough though.

I got the cough with Lisinopril. My PCP prescribed Bensonanate (Tesla Pearls). Worked great. I don’t take a BP med now, but I have definitely heard of some of the BP meds causing a persistent cough.

Good for you for getting off Bp meds! How did you manage that? Good diet? Yes I took lispronil in the hospital after my stroke and it was AWFUL!! Never take that again this is just a nagging cough but would

Like to get rid of it totally but nothing like that lispronil

The Tesla Pearls are for the cough. Diet helped get my BP down. I always had low BP until about 55 yrs old and very active. ALSO, I quit smoking. I think smoking cigs is the worse thing I ever did that caused health problems. I am on fluid restriction too, so that helps with BP. I also stopped drinking anything but water... no beer alcohol....nothing but water.

I was on several types of BP meds. I can’t even remember all of them. I would start taking a new BP med, and my BP plunged too low!

Good luck!

Thank you so much!! Awesome job on quitting I’ve never been a drinker or smoker but I know that is very hard to do so congratulations on that

Yes a cough and runny nose. Those are listed side effects. But since Losartan is metabolized in the kidney my doctor stopped it and put me on Bystolic. I still have a runny nose but I guess I can live with it. ☺️

I know it’s like you got to take the good with the bad. I can handle a small cough & runny nose compared to all the other horrible side effects with different medications
