I know these figures are way below the worry level for CKD 3a, but please can anybody tell me why I have had any increase at all in my levels in a year? Best to know if there is a reason so I can address it.
I understand that there should be no microalbumin in urine if you have healthy kidneys.
A year ago the figure was 3mg. Now it is 12.
A year ago the creatinine was 9.5; now it is 9.8.
The ratio has therefore gone up from 0.3mg/mmol to 1.2.
Low though these figures appear to be, they seem to be quite a jump.
Anyone who can put forward a reason would be most appreciated.

We do not diagnose here on this site. I would definitely ask the doctor. However, consider this information. Things like what you eat, how much you drink and what you drink will make a difference in lab readings. Do you have diabetes or headed towards diabetes?
I found this article and learned that higher acid can cause a higher level.
"Higher levels of microalbumin may also be caused by blood in your urine, a urinary tract infection, and an acid-base imbalance in your blood. "
The numbers change for various reasons: hydration, medication, diet, etc. For me, since mine is only due to too much Advil for too many years of chronic pain, it's diet. My nephrologist referred me to a dietitian who coaches me on healthy food for impaired kidneys and my numbers improved.
