SPINAL STENOSIS

hi I am 80yrs young have had spinal stenosis for 20+yrs and copd. Up to last year I did all my own gardening a large corner plot, but now my legs will not hold me up.is this normal for someone with spinal stenosis.(I have had two operations).

this could be pressure on the leg nerve roots.

It is worth checking it out with your GP and with a chiropractor.

Hi thanks for the comment trouble is it all started had stiff neck I went to a chiropractor three days later had terrible pain in my arm ,had to go home from work

never worked again.GEC doctor told me I cannot work.had two operations.Silverman.

Hi Silverman, I have lumbar spinal stenosis which causes referred pain to my hip and nerve pain in my groin, I take Gabapentin for the nerve problem and codeine when necessary for my hip. I have had x-rays and my ball and socket joints are fine. I also have Bronchiecstasis. Take care, Lizzy

You could check out your levels of B12. I had surgery for spinal stenosis privately and now think that my B12 Deficiency ( a neurological condition ) was the cause. Now on weekly B12 injections as I live in Crete and can buy them over the counter - unlike the UK - where they do NOT understand it and just say you are in range - the range being 180-900 depending on the lab. The range in Japan starts at 500. My improvement has been excellent. When B12 is low - below 500 - you can suffer neurological damage which can involve the deterioration of the myelin sheath that protects the nerves.

Low B12 is often implicated in MS - Parkinsons and many chronic conditions....
