OK you need to escalate the complaint. Assuming that you are in England (I have no knowledge of other nations in the UK), each Local Authority has a Health & Wellbeing Board it oversees Social Care, the local NHS and Public Health.

I would either:

1. ask the Councillor to take the matter to the Health & Wellbeing Board.

2. speak with your local Healthwatch team - Healthwatch are members of the Health & Wellbeing Board - asking them to raise the matter on your behalf.

3. speak with the Health & Wellbeing Board Chair and attend the meeting yourself (it's a public meeting) and put you own case.

Your local Healthwatch has a website with contact details etc HealthWatch state they are the 'Independent Patient Champion ';

Health & Wellbeing Board papers should be on the Local Authority website for details of the Chair etc

Already spoke to local health watch! They were quite happy to listen and pass on the information to CQC but not cannot do much in individuals cases! I requested to put this issue to health and well being board but no success! Since then I also found out many in this individual"s team are scated of him. He does not trust his own teams judgement.

Two options come to mind:

1. Speak with the CCG Chief Officer on a one to one basis - if the individual's team members are scared of him - and you are not satisfied with the service, that person should be made aware.

2. Try nhscomplaintsadvocacy.org/ - I have never used them so can make no comment about their effectiveness.

The location of your GP determines which CCG you come under. If you changed your GP to one in an adjacent LA area you would come under different CCG. Is this feasible and would this get you away from the problem? Take care some CCGs share staff.

Is there a patient group that could help? Usually others have gone down the same route before you and their experience can be useful.

The individual would need to see the compliant in order to put his side of the issue.

You have a right to put your case don't be bullied by someone whose salary you are helping to pay.

Have they responded? NHS has an unfortunate habit of not responding when life gets too difficult. If they have not responded I would press the Ch Ex short and sharp eg '... when can I expect a reply to my email of ...... '

In fact this invidual stopped the payment in June and then informed is in October informing us that he has done it, just in case I haven't noticed.!;

Is it time to go to the Health Service Ombudsman? You need to have finished the NHS complaints route before you can go to them - it looks to me as though you have.

' Our role is to investigate complaints that individuals have been treated unfairly or have received poor service from government departments and other public organisations and the NHS in England. '

Healthwatch cannot be trusted to deal with complaints nor is it fit for purpose. That is the opinion of a few people at the "Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care".

Google for health charities which deal with complaints. Speak to people in "Carers UK" or "Patients Association" or "AVMA2

Hope this helps.

That's an interesting statement.

I am of the same opinion for my local HW, hadn't realised it was wider than my locality. The LA holds the HW contract which is up for renewal/extension April '15 - I have expressed my views to LA.

Are you aware if:

1. Prof Standards Authority are taking any action

2. Is this public knowledge that I could forward to my LA.

Prof Standards Authority have called meetings on the issue. Prof Standards Authority pass information onto government for action or information purposes only. I do not know any more than this.

Healthwatch varies from one place to another. You can forward it onto the LA. I made a general statement, so it may not apply to your LA. You have to gather evidence on what is taking place at Healthwatch in your LA.

In one area Healthwatch sang the praises of physiotherapy despite the numerous complaints about physiotherapy in that area.

Sorry I cannot be more helpful than that.
