About 1 1/2 years ago I had a localised pain at the back of my throat (Waldeyer's tonsillar ring) . It hurt especially when eating some sour foods, hot fluids, some sweet foods, and particlarly walnuts, and also on its own - it is a very localised burning pain - like a sore. Anyway I went to a doctor and he saw what he said was a reddened area with a white/yellow spot in the middle and told me it was a bacterial infection. This shortly disappeared. However, the pain is still there as before, more than 17 months after, again caused by the same stimuli or on its own. I went to two ENT doctors and they could find nothing, likewise my dentist could find nothing . The original doctor could only see a bit of scar tissue where the infection was. The flare ups seem to be worse after sport, so maybe a blood vessel is compressing some nerve. It is debiliating. It robs me of sleep sometimes and well maybe there is someone who is cleverer than my docs out there . Thanks
