Can I use a foot spa during pregnancy??

I'm 13 weeks pregnant and work long hours on my feet and they are really painful. Does anyone know if I can use a foot spa to try to ease them? I know you shouldn't use jacuzzis / saunas because your core temperature increases too much but I can't see this applying to foot spas (?)

Thanks :-)

Foot spa is fine and a light massage, but do not massage you ankles as this triggers contractions.

I had the same problem, on my feet all day :( but I was advised against footspas until after 37 weeks as they can start contractions.. it says on the box on the one i have not to use in pregnancy.. the midwife told me to use a basin with warm water :( not exactly the same effect :(

Better than nothing I suppose. Will give that a try :) thanks.

I always put some salt in hot bucket of water if my feet are really sore. . Have been asking the family for a foot massage but get a eurgh no! Charming! My ferry aren't that bad lol

Please explain how a foot spa can bring on contractions, as this seems ridiculous? Saying that, nothing should surprise me with pregnancy these days! :)

I think foot-spas kept me going all these days. And really I dont think Jacuzzi is bad either if you maintain the temprature lower and bubble it down to lower levels. I have had a couple of foot spas already (i normally like a strong massage on my feet and have followed the routine as it is). With jacuzzi, I am alerting the service provider of my pregnancy and using water at 35 degrees with lesser strong bubbles (I let it bubble for only 3 minutes instead of usual 5 minutes).

i have not taken any body messages and Spas lately but that is because i have always got my periods whenever I have had one in the past so I knew I have to completely avoid them during pregnancy !!

Im using a foot spa right at the moment and im 10 weeks pregnant today with my third child. Your fine! As long as the water is not too hot. Honestly, is taking a bath any different than soaking your feet in a foot spa? I didnt think so.
