I was diagnosed with MS in CT in 1998. My very competitive career was soaring. I was offered a job in KY so I left CT and I didn't address my MS. One day in 2008 I woke up and had blurred vision. I thought it allergy related. I went to an eye doctor. The optomologist administered a simple test that involved circles and several colors. She then asked if I had ever been diagnosed with MS. I credit her for saving my mobility. She then gave me a list of Neurologist. I selected a gentleman who was extremely direct, very kind and funny. He was fatherly and I didn't run away. I left the office that day with an interferon that I take three days aweek. That doctor saved my life. I have embraced living with MS.

Hello and welcome! It sounds like it's been a long journey. I'm glad to hear that you found a neurologist you like and a DMT that works for you. This is a good site to vent, get and give advice, or just share a laugh. I'm glad you're here. 😊
Hi MintC58, and welcome! So glad to hear that things worked out, you found a good Neurologist (so important!) and you are on a DMT to help manage your M.S. Look forward to hearing more from you.🙂
Welcome MintC58! You have found a good bunch of people who can relate to things you are going through!
Similar story lived in CT commuted to NYC travelled extensively for business, physical problems began, like you trial and error diagnosis until being diagnosed correctly in 1986-and consider myself fortunate, loss of sensory abilities, muscle spasms, weakness and loss of balance have all affected me but it is only within the last 8 years that I can’t drive and only within the last 5 years that I have very limited mobility, I am now in a wheelchair. The only remedy for guys like me years ago was to load me up with steroids, now there are a host of disease modifying treatments available still no cure but a real measurable delaying of the progression, as you will learn, this forum is helpful.
Post Script: now live in Indiana started small business to keep me out of the bars.
I'm glad you made it that long with no problems good luck
