I do because my daughter and husband have problems with their lungs and if I got the flu, RSV or Covid and didnβt know that I had it and unknowingly gave it to them they very well could die. I couldnβt live with that. It is a part of our lives now and I have no problem with wearing one.
Donβt blame you as I do the same thing right now as the flu is crazy and another run of Covid starting. Better safe then sorry they say ππ
The family wears them in public but not when we're together unless someone was sick within the last month. So far, it's worked well. I don't get out much, but it's rare to see anyone else wearing them.
It depends on what I'm doing IF I leave the house. Though last weekend we went to a couple of craft fairs and I didn't wear one to either. Did see a few people who were masked up.
Rarely. If it's required I do.
When I was in a Glaze Technology class, we had to wear an OSHA approved respirator while formulating ceramic glazes as the paper masks that are everywhere these days did not filter out airborne particles of the heavy metals we worked with. Stuff like Alumina,Barium Carbonate,Copper Carbonate, Cobalt Carbonate Chromium,Iron Oxide, Lithium,Talc-those are just a few that come to mind.
These particles are larger than the Covid virus which makes me question the efficacy of the masks that are out there.
That's why my mother fought tooth and nail against the masks. She wore them when they were mandatory, but she also reduced her shopping trips because of it.
i am not comfortable being around other people who are unmasked so i don't go anywhere.
I wear one most places
I will wear a mask if I have a cold, Jesmcd2 ! I am still using hand sanitizer, and I stay away from people I do not know. Better safe than sorry!
yep, i always do. almost no one else does, but then again almost no one else did when thousands of people were dying every day. they proudly infected everyone around them and when they died, they pretended it was an aggressive flu or pneumonia.
so i will continue to wear my mask.
Yes. I wear a mask still and will continueππΎ

I do not cause they do not work....
This is not my opinion, but OSHA fact! Before MS, I was an electrician. I did a lot of "spot" asbestos abatement. I had to take an OSHA approved safety course in order to be able to legally do it. During an abatement on a job site, I had to wear a full respirator mask and have a doctor sign off that I had the lung strength for it. If OSHA caught anyone doing an abatement with a n95 paper mask it was an instant $10k fine to your company and you were fired. 99.9% of harmful asbestos is larger then a virus. So, not good enough for asbestos but works for COVID, which is smaller? Bull*!*/. N95 is worthless and wearing a mask without the required lung strength is harmful.
Even a respirator mask is only good one way. It protects the person wearing it, but not others. So, if the person wearing it has COVID, it's worthless.
But, science, right
This topic is upsetting to me.
I never got COVID, but I'll never recover from it and these crazy lockdowns..
I used to work in an office attached to a union shop, and this has been my thought on the masks, too. The part about them that I approve is that they kept so many blankety-blanks from coughing and sneezing on other people. I did a couple years as a Walmart cashier, and too many people have no concept of basic hygiene or common sense.
I do still wear a mask when I'm apt to encounter anyone, and that is whenever I'm out of my apartment, or if there's a visitor. It's a far more crowded world than it was years ago, and people are having to be closer to one another. My neighbors are usually hard of hearing and lean in close to anyone they're talking to. I'm older and have MS. They're older and have other health problems that make them vulnerable.
Doctors offices and indoors yes except at my daughter school and her indoor activity I feel embarrassed because no one else does but I feel like I will start again because viruses flu covid etc plus I'm pregnant so that gives me a good excuse lol
hi Jesmcd2 yes i mask up most of the time. i wipe down my cart at stores and yes i get eyeballed all the time.i also frequent covid test if i feel something comming on. i had it two weeks before it was announced to the world. sadly they knew but the then President didnt think it was wise to announce it.I wish they had..id never let in the plummer who just got back from Taiwan ...came in sweating bullets and after the work tells me he is really sick! wear that mask. i was so ill. now boosted vaxed you name it...
I also still wear mines. LIke you some people tend to look at me as if I had something. I'm trying to prevent from getting something. But I don't care because your right, people only care about themselves as the sneezing and coughing all over and sometimes without coving their mouth.π·
