If I answer my phone & get a telemarketer I just say "wait a minute, let me get my husband, he's the chief of police." CLICK as they hang up.

I have actually thought of that!! I didn't want to pay for them. I do have a Canadian Goose caller though. It really squeals!

Robocalls are a numbers game. A computer dials your number and gives a recorded message. The computer can only dial X number of calls an hour. If you answer, you become a target for further calls. A continually unanswered number is unlikely to be productive and wastes valuable computer dial-out time so it is skipped or called less.
