So very true! Nowadays they yell and throw things. I think slamming down the receiver is much better, even if you eventually have to use duct tape to hold the receiver together. You can get pretty duct tape today, we only had ugly grey.

We had a 4 party line and we all got together and had certain times of the day we used the phone. It was different each day. It actually worked pretty good & if we had an emergency the others were good to let you use their time.
