Another Dream Big Panel

I quilted this for my daughter-in-law. Each leaf is quilted differently, all free hand. Now I need to just bind it.

Doing pretty well. I haven’t totally conquered the swallowing and voice problems, but I’m getting there! How are you doing?

Good. I think going back on Ocrevus was a good decision for me. I’ve felt better. Some improvements. Then again, it’s finally cooled off in fla and that helps too

That is beautiful! I've seen them done with a long arm but not by hand. Great job!

WOW!!! That's beautiful! How long did it take you to do that? It would take me years...and years...and years...

I worked on it in snatches. I had most of it done before surgery, thank goodness. I know there are many hours in it.

Stunning! How did you create the shading at the flower's base?

I’ve done some thread painting before, but only quilted this with matching and contrasting thread.

It’s just a printed panel. I didn’t have to do anything but quilt it!

My friend just got a new sewing machine. I am amazed at what one can do with them.

Could this kind of quilt be done in white and then painted afterwards with dyes..without a giant mess like the one I created yesterday with a paint pour experiment?

greaterexp profile image
greaterexp in reply to falalalala

They do make a very light cream panel. Just look up Dream Big by Hoffman. And I've seen stunning quilts and wall hangings done by quilting a design on plain fabric, and then painting it with fabric dyes or paints. The paints and dyes aren't cheap. I've wanted to do some of those, but have so many other projects lined up. Someday...!

Oh, My! You have done an awesome job on that one! You're inspiring me to get at it again! Just got my old Bernina machine back from it's hospital today. I've tried to wear it out, but the repairman told me not to worry. Said it's a "tank" of a machine. Now, where did I put that piece of fabric? Thanks for all the inspiration. You keep me going!

I’m rather fond of older, mechanical machines. They were made before planned obsolescence and just keep going and going! I can’t wait to see what you stitch up!
