My MRI Results return and showed 2 lesions with one being active on the Thoracic Spine and the Cervical Nonactive. In the event my neurologist feels I possible need to change med (Tecfidera) so I have an appt with him on tomorrow to discuss. I have only been on the Tec for 2 1/2 mths so I sort of wanted to give it a lil more time. I wasn’t started on the med in March 2020 when 1st diagnosed because of COVID-19, I was only given 3doses of steroid @ 1000mg. With all been said just trying to make a decision because other lesions started within the last mths since my last MRI in February. Just trying to figure all this out can be difficult. Thank you!

Your in my prayers. My first several years were crazy.
I’m so sorry you didn’t get treatment in time to prevent the lesion. How long does it take for Tec to be fully effective?
I am with you on this, I don’t think they have given Tecfidera time to work. If you are comfortable on it, why change and maybe discuss with your neurologist that you would like to give it chance to work. Let us know how you get on, blessings Jimeka 🤗
Sorry about the new lesions. Tec takes about 6 months before you can see any results. It didn't work very well for me though. After a year I was still having flare-ups. Made me kind of mad cuz I was so tired of daily injections of Copaxone, which worked very well for me. I went back to Copaxone 3x's a week dose for the next 2 years until I changed to Ocrevus, which has been the best treatment yet. It has taken away almost all of my MS symptoms. I still have leg cramps in the middle of the night from time to time, but no fatigue or heat/cold sensitivity, most of the numbness is gone, especially in my face & tongue, I can taste food again (unfortunately I gained 10 lbs last year, but have recently gotten it back off) That said, I would give Tec at least 6 months before giving up on it.
Whatever you decide, I'll pray for wisdom for both you and your doctor. MS sure isn't just cut and dried like many other diseases. Please let us know what you decide to do.
