Is anyone on solumedral and has it helped your balance?

Solumedral
Gotta love Solu-Medrol, your neuro must think your having a relaspe? And maybe? Not Alot of info there to work with!🤣
I hope so tho! 🤗💕🌠
I was on Solumederal in the past when I have had relapses. Usually a 3-5 days then a steroid taper. After all was finished, I usually felt better.
Sometimes it takes a while to see improvement on some things and others are noticeable right away. Just depends. It usually makes my left leg worse for a couple months but then it gets better.
isn't it used for relapses
Solumedrol will not directly improve your balance or any other MS symptom you may have - but if it helps to resolve a relapse then symptoms may improve as your body deals with the inflammation and demyelination arising from a relapse. If you are having balance problems don't just assume that they are from your MS - there are other causes of balance problems and these should be ruled out by your medical practitioners. Because MS is so variable there are many people who attribute various problems to their MS and don't get them checked out when they should, sometimes ending up with worse problems because they made that assumption.
Since a course of solumedral is usually short, I don't believe it can help with balance (except perhaps temporarily). As I understand balance, it originates in the brain, working in coordination with other systems. When balance is off (and mine is) it is due to damage to the myelin on the nerves that coordinate systems to keep us balanced. At my diagnosis, I was on a five day course of solumedral: after which I noticed no change/improvement/alteration at all (except the ability to track it from infusion point up my arm and the horrid metallic taste in my mouth.)
