Wish we had our significant others on here to update us when there's concerns etc. π
I just got off the phone with Kelly. She is hanging in there. She hasn't been on in a couple of days because her tremors have been too bad for typing. She wanted me to let you all know what is going on and she appreciates all the love and concern that you are sending her way.
She went to the hospital on Wednesday. They kept her for several hours but did not give her steroids. The reason they didn't is she just had steroids in November (just before Thanksgiving) and they didn't do anything for her the doctors didn't feel they would help this time either. She was able to see 2 neurologists and they both felt the same way. She has been referred to PT for help in getting her strength back. She can't see her regular neurologist because he quit and left the state. There are a lot of patients trying to find a new neurologist because of this and appointments are hard to come by as the other practices try to absorb the overflow. She is in the process of getting a new neurologist but it takes time to get in. I think that is also part of why they didn't do steroids. She currently doesn't have a neurologist to follow up with.
I have an appointment on Tuesday with the neurologist she has been referred to so I think I will see if she would like to go to my appointment with me to meet her and maybe we can get her in faster that way. Unfortunately the University does not move quickly.
Kelly said that she is hoping her tremors settle down enough that she can type either this evening or tomorrow.
She misses all of you.
Jacqui
P.S. Kelly and I only live about 3 miles from each other.
Thanks so much for the update. You guys are luck to be close! Tell her we are all pulling for her recovery!
