Stem Cell Transplant

I'm celebrating three years of partial remission after two years of treatment with little or no change. I feel like I've been given the gift of three additional years of life. If the opportunity is given...take it and run. Still feeling well and back to being my very busy involved self.

Congratulations JC. That's a great outcome, really pleased for you. Were your stem cells autologous or from a donor?

I had a wonderful harvest of autologous stem cells. The tiny pin pricks that built up my stem cells were nothing and the harvest was pain free. The six weeks in isolation are now just a faint memory and life is good.

Great to hear that it was all worth it JC. There's a lot you hear about the upheaval of harvesting so it's useful to hear a positive journey through to the other side! Thanks for sharing the experience.
