Lymecycline

My daughter has been taking Lymecycline capsules but struggles to swallow them whole so empty’s the contents into water and drinks it. I’m worried this may damage her organs. Can I get a liquid form?

I shouldn't think it will make too much difference other than maybe entering her bloodstream a tiny bit quicker, as the result will be the same when the capsule coating dissolves in the stomach.

I'm guessing your daughter is taking it to treat acne.

There is a slight chance of developing oesophageal ulceration if capsule shell is not used, but the risk is very low, and if she drinks plenty of water after taking the solution it should be ok.

I can't speak on liquid form, but please stop your daughter from emptying these capsules. That is not the way your girls medication was meant to be delivered. If she were on Ritalin would you allow her to do the same?
