Sounds a bit like pompholyx eczema, horrible itchy and very sore if it dries out and cracks. Are you using a washing powder/liquid/tabs that have changed formula recently? My palms were covered in pompholyx a number of years ago and when I changed from using Persil non-bio to Fairy non-bio it all cleared up. I also bought white cotton gloves from Healthy House and use them when dusting. What a difference they made. And I moisturiser hands regularly with Neutrogena unscented Norwegian Formula or Palmers cocoa butter intensive.
