Fibromyalgia &OCD

Is there a connection with Fibro and OCD? My partner seems to think I have OCD as I'm constantly trying to watch a series on TV but consistently fall asleep.

Also falling asleep while home working and not sleeping properly when going to bed.

I'm getting sick and tired of the stress and arguments this is causing. Not to mention the on going issues for working.

Anyone out there have any advice?

Hello there, that in itself is not really OCD, or are there other signs your partner is on about? Also, what aspect of this is causing an argument?Have you tried to address your sleep issues and identified what is stopping you from sleeping? Do you ever have a good night?

My partner has noticed that even though I know the likelihood of my falling asleep almost immediately that I put a series on TV. I still religiously put that programme on every evening.

I think there are also other minor issues he's noted.

As for sleeping - I occasionally have a good night. But they're infrequent at best.

Add to this a new job (November), divorce (within last 2 years), financial court hearings, property sale (still ongoing). I think there's a valid reason for non-restorative sleep.

I don't think you have OCD. I think that you are probably doing so much during the day and are exhausted that when you finally sit down and relax the fatigue makes you pass out! You want to be able to sit and spend some time with your partner watching the TV series but your body and brain are totally drained. It's all the fibro's doing. My only suggestion would be is to try and find time for a wee nap during the day. Hope this helps. P. S. Make sure your partner does some research into fibromyalgia so he can give you some support with your issues. Halve the burden so to speak.

Hello, I have OCD for like forever lol but that doesn't affect my sleep but sleep apnea and insomnia do plus all the pains in my body do not help. I get 2 hrs at a time sleep. Then up then back to sleep then up again. It's a never ending cycle. Sleep aid from doctor worked for a month only then those pills did nothing. It's very frustrating what we feel and live with daily. I can stay awake not but choice but my anxiety and you know what, you think I sleep for days wrong right back to 2 hrs at a shot. I just deal with it best I can. Some days I just want to cry, scream, hit something or just be dumbfounded all this causes us.
