In dire need of relief from internal itching almost everywhere. Is this the norm?

Hello I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 2 months ago and it's a hard pill to swallow because my quality of life has been a 180.

I finally think Cymbalta 30 mg is assisting somewhat but I am waiting on the higher dose in 2 weeks. What can I do about the internal itching all over. Please don't tell me that this is the norm?? Someone please give me remedies. I've tried Epsom salt, oatmeal baths, Aveeno lotion and Caladryl Clear which does absolutely nothing 😭😭😭😭😭

Hi,

This may or may not apply to you, but I was diagnosed almost 4 months ago and my itches have all but gone. They used to be 24/7 and now its only on the odd occasion. Saying that, some meds have side affects that can cause an itch, which again, you may not have to experience for long. I found that all the lotions, potions, baths and things that promise to stop the itch, don't. In fact they just aggravate the situation, because you expect it to work and it simply can't. I bought a microfibre mini mop to stroke on my itches which was the best relief, until the itches got between my toes!!!

Be patient. I use Matrifen patches and they help with the pain. Side effects for me were headaches, which can be brutal (4 day migraine etc.) but they've subsided now too. I have other issues, arthritis, spondylosis and fall-damaged knees, but, on the whole, the fibromyalgia is presently under control. It isn't always possible (we all have bad days and really bad days) but I'm staying positive in my mind and healthy in my outlook and it seems to be working for me.

I really hope this helps you.

Gemma - You are a true gem! Thank you very much for your response. The thought of discovering this group and know that there is someone out there that can relate to this god awful pain gives me a sense a relief that it's not mental - argh!

I'm sending you virtual hugs and task you to remember that the foods that we eat can help us get through. It's going to be challenging for me but after the past two weeks I'm going to try to lean towards a plant based diet, which should help you too. I am mindful of the water that I drink isn't always the greatest so I alkaline a picture of water by adding fresh squeezed limes for a few hours or let sit overnight. I also drink herbal tea when I want a little flavor.

For your headaches, try brewing one cup of water and add 1 tsp Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar, a pinch of cinnamon and 1 tbsp raw honey twice a day.

Don't forget that we have to cut out the junk food, mostly sugar, flour, artificial sweeteners, msg. etc..

I'm going to look for the patches that you suggested and pray all goes well with the allergist this afternoon.

Hiya, Thank you. I didn't know about the cider vinegar, I pour some into the garden to keep rats out (just incase). I feed the birds and wouldn't want to encourage rats. It works a treat for that, so I'll save some for me.

So far as diet is concerned, I had pneumonia last year and after the dangerous period, I obviously lacked energy. Still walked my dogs twice a day but much slower. In 3 months I'd gained 3 stone, so I went on a protein diet. It took 4 months to lose it, but I lost it. I cut out all wheat based foods and sugar. I mostly live on chicken, liver, leafy green vegetables (mainly spinach) and fruit. I drink one cup of coffee a day, unless my neighbour pops in and I have a second cup. I don't eat sweets, don't drink sweet or carbonated drinks, don't drink alcohol and I don't smoke. I occasionally make sauces with cream and cheese and I drink goats milk. I never eat junk, ready processed foods but I do always cook using the microwave, for speed and ease. It works for me. Oh, I don't trust water. Neither bottled nor tap. I buy pure borax and put a big pinch into the kettle. It eliminates sodium fluoride which causes thousands of ailments. I also put a pinch of borax into the dogs water. It's good or arthritis and many other things.

I've only ever had honey and cinnamon for a cold, though I rarely get a cold these days. I'll try it with the cider vinegar when I next get a headache.

I'm still looking into homeopathy for my fibromyalgia, it takes a lot of studying to get the right combination of remedies.

I hope your itches have eased and you find loads to laugh about, laughter really is the best medicine (unless you've got broken ribs) lol.

Let me know what you think about my diet regime.

Lots of love and laughs,

Gemma

Hiya, Its me again, bouncing back like a bad penny!

I've just read your profile and you say you understand certain medicines are necessary depending on one's condition. With homeopathy, a persons constitution and history are taken into consideration as well.

I'd love to try to help with your fibromyalgia.

I've already asked administrators if I can contact people or allow them to contact me personally, so that I can ask the 101 questions I need to ask about the person and their condition, how it affects them, what makes it slightly better and worse and finally to supply the remedies. I was told its not allowed. Even though this would be for no personal gain at all, its against protocol.

The only way forward is to ask and answer questions through this website. I'll leave the decision up to you but I would like to help.

Thank you for following me........it's a lot of years since anyone has bothered lol

I wish you much comfort and a refreshing, painfree, itchfree sleep.

What do you mean by "internal" itching? I have noticed that I am having a lot of itching all over my body, mainly my scalp and legs, with some on my feet, along with burning and tingling in them. Is that what you mean? I thoght something was actually biting me for a while!
