Thanks, I am planning on trying hemp CBD oil for OA and fibromyalgia soon. Have done some research because there isn't a lot of scientific data to back up either safety or efficacy for products such as this. What I have learned is that because there is no control and no standards unlike with prescription drugs, quality and amount of CBD varies widely. It should not matter whether the source is hemp cannabis or marijuana cannibis. What matters is how much CBD the product contains, as well as how well it gets into the body where it is needed. (That is assuming that it is CBD and not some other ingredient that is the active principle.) It just takes a lot more hemp to get the same amount of CBD as the concentration of CBD is much lower in hemp than in marijuana. The main advantage to hemp CBD oil is that is legal in all 50 states and no prescription is required. CBD from marijuana is only legal in a few states, and there are usually a lot of restrictions such as requiring a prescription and only certain sellers can be licensed. It has recently become legal in state for a very limited list of conditions, fortunately fibromyalgia is on that list so that is another route I may try in the future.

I ran across a website called CBD Review that has been very helpful. They have lots of information and do their own ratings on various brands of hemp CBD oil, giving each brand one to five stars. In addition they sell many of those brands which have at least 4 stars. You can become a member for free, and they will send you emails of special introductory offers and other sales.

I recently tried a free sample dose of an oral spray of CBD Oil at a local farmers' market. Can't say I saw any effect, but my chiro says it may require taking it regularly for a few days or longer, as with most herbal remedies and many prescription medications. Also it comes in many other forms such as capsules and topical rubs, so it's hard to know which will work best for me.

I will be following this post with interest because I have posted questions about CBD oil on a couple of sites but had no response so far.
