Worried may have lung cancer as get very breathless when exercising and still have fatigue it's a likely follow on from breast cancer.
Hi Lily, if you are like me it is most likely you are regaining fitness and then it is normal to be breathless when you exercise. Suggest if you are worried you put your mind at rest and go to see your doctor who can then make the proper investigations to check out the health if your lungs.
Hi Lily
I get breathless at times too, especially when climbing stairs or even just talking sometimes. I am just out of chemo 5. I couldn't imagine the fatigue getting any worse, but it stepped up a couple of gears after chemo number 4, so my exercising regime has gone down a couple of gears to compensate. Pilates and yoga are my limit at the moment. I hope that I will be able to up the gears again a few weeks after chemo number 6, but I will see what the effects of radiotherapy has on my energy levels. I've learnt to adapt to what my body is telling me and I'm going with the flow. Discuss your concerns with your doctor/oncologist to get peace of mind. We are on high alert constantly with this cancer lark as every symptom we have is a worry, so share it with a medic to ease that worry - you have enough to deal with.
Hi Lily
I've got a very similar concern to you at the moment. I had breast cancer 2 years ago, went through chemo that year, followed by radiotherapy, then 6 months of herceptin last year. Now got a strange mucus feeling in my lungs and keep having to clear my throat. My oncologist said it's usually a cough we have to look out for. As butterfly says, we are so on alert for all symptoms. My problem is that I've had ME for 16 years and I have loads of other symptoms too. Each day I wonder if it could be cancer-related. Do lots of things that PB recommend to deal with this fear. We do have a lot to deal with, don't we! still, sun is shining today and I'm about to go and breathe in some lovely fresh air. Love to you xxx
Hi Lily
I can answer with respect to the lack of energy. I had about 18months of whole body exhaustion prior to being diagnosed with Advanced prostate Cancer. One of the things I did very quickly was to start juicing Organic Vegetables and within a week, the energy just coursed back into my body. I understand that the right diet and exercise will fuel the Lymphatic (Immune) System and enable it to 'go get em'.
That additional body energy certainly helped to combat the fatigue I experienced from lots of healing from surgery and the Radiotherapy.
I hope that helps.
I am juicing, and now under cardiologist, seems there is a chance it may be radiotherapy induced pneumonitis
Sorry meant to say thank you for your generous replies....
