Hi all,
I'm new here just looking for support from people who have been through caring for someone with breast cancer. My mum was diagnosed about 6 weeks ago, since then she has been told it had spread to her liver and lungs. In the past 3-4 weeks she has become bedridden. Other than that she was keeping well a little unsteady on her feet so was needing helping out of bed to the toilet and such things like that, and also suffering with quite a lot of pain in her breast but we seemed to of had that under control with pain relief. After spending 2 weeks caring for her I had to go home for a few days as have a husband and two children at home. She was due to go in hospital for a week tomorrow for radiation and I had planned to come back today to be here to support my dad by taking him back and fourth to the hospital and such like. But Saturday morning had received a phone call to say mum has taken a turn for the worse and me and the rest of my immediate family must come down. So rushed down to find her laid in bed unable to talk, eat or drink. She is now unable to swallow at all so has had a syringe drive out in for pain relief. She is unresponsive and unaware of anything around her, as you can imagine this was a huge shock. All of this had happened just over night, the day before she had been eating fish and chips, all happy laughing and joking with my dad. We have now been told she will no longer be going for radiation, as it's too late. Has this happened to anyone else? Basically could you give me advice I.e what's the next step? How to cope? Is she still able to hear us? Any advice/ information would be greatly appreciated. Look forward to hearing from you all
