had pain in enlarged spleen radiating to L shoulder. Has anyone else had this. I have PRV. how long did it last and what did you take
Hi I have exactly the same due to an enlarged spleen it is 21cm . I the only thing I can take for the pain is paracetamol. I have started taking HU with the hope this will reduce my spleen size. I have been taking it for 2 weeks and my spleen pain has reduced but I now have another set of symptoms due to the side effects of the drug including headache, nausea and extreme fatigue. I am hoping my body will adjust to the medication and these side effects will subside. If they don't interferon is another option to reduce spleen size and improve PV symptoms. I hope this helps some .
I had a similar pain and symptoms at the start of the year. Eventually got a CT scan which showed up a blood clot. This was treated with warfarin which took away the pain. Would suggest you get in touch with your GP to be on the safe side
Hi I had a bad pain in my spleen last year. My doctor gave me some penicillin which helped a lot. I would agree that you need to see your doctor. I take hydroxy 3 and 2 tablets alternate days plus 2 anagralide and aspirin.
