Has anyone traveled with Besremi? I have never traveled with a medicine that has to be kept cold or an injection. We are flying in June for work but it isn’t that far, but December going back to Europe for 2 weeks. Figured someone has done this. Any tips?

Here’s one option: amazon.com/LifeinaBag24-Med...

It’s a little pricey, but the quality is good. I haven’t tested it yet for a 24 hour period, but it’s well insulated and has room for two ice packs. I reviewed the company’s website before buying it on Amazon, and there’s a lot of good information there.

I have a couple of times! I travelled from eastern US to the UK, total journey time a little over 24hrs door-to-door. On both occasions I just got a small-ish insulated cooler bag from Walmart/Amazon and used 2-3 of the cold packs that the Besremi was delivered to me with and it was still within range and looking normal upon arrival.

I was super nervous to travel with it the first time and took a letter from my doctor the first time and just the prescription info sheet from the delivery the second time, but my experience was super smooth both times - at security I just spoke to whoever was directing us on loading our trays and let them know I had a bag with medication in a syringe that had to remain cold and could not be put through the x-ray and they just took it round and examined it without x-ray. Nobody asked for any of the documentation I brought, just looked at the box, but it still might be worth taking just in case of further questions.

My only real tip would be to make sure you get a bag that's relatively comfy to carry if you're not packing it inside your regular carry-on - the first time I didn't realise how heavy those ice packs were going to feel on a narrow cross-body strap after a couple hours walking around an airport!

Have made numerous long-haul (10 - 16 hour flights) trips with Peg. Have used regular small cooler/ice-packs to keep cool. The only issue I have had is on connecting flights in US going through TSA as by that time the ice packs had started to melt and I had to explain to the security officers why it was necessary to carry "liquid" through the check point (in subsequent trips actually took an extra ice pack and asked flight attendants to keep frozen for me during flight).

I do travel with a letter from my doctor (have never been asked for it).

thank you! I plan to see if they can help me on the plane. I just need to see if I can find the perfect cooler!

Traveling with a well insulated cooler bag is quite easy as the others have suggested. One thing to know is that the cooler bag should not go through the x-ray machine. You will need to request a visual inspection per the recommendation from Pharma Essentia. It is particulary important to have a signed doctor's note when travelling out of country, Here is the packet from Pharma Essentia. besremi.com/pdf/BESREMI-tra...

Great to know! I plan on getting a note from doctor and will talk with PharmaEssential too. Luckily first trip is within the US and flying out of my local little airport to start. So will be a good trial run!

Thank you for bringing this topic into a forum! I would not have thought this through in enough time for my travel in June. I just sent the form to my doctor.

hey. Didn’t try to travel with medicine yet but bought a thermos which can keep temperature 2-4 Celsius for 48 hours. lol for company called 4all family. It used for diabetics but also can use for our injections. The thermos can became a refrigerator with u.s.b charger

yes. I bought a tiny cooler that can be said between 3 and 6°C. There is room for two Besremi pens and it can be plugged two into the wall socket, cigarette lighter in the car, to a USB battery pack, and to a computer. Lots of options. That is the most important part. was not cheap I paid over €500, but it works. 🙂

Hi,

I have been on Besremi for over 2yrs and I am currently injecting every 2 weeks.

I try to avoid traveling with Besremi if at all possible by adapting my schedule to better fit with my travel plans .  For example I am going on a 2 week vacation in a few weeks time so I have adapted my usual treatment schedule to every 15 days so that the days align correctly and I will inject Besremi on the morning of the day I leave and take the next dose when I return.

This works for me, but it does take a bit of fore planning.   I hope this helps.

that may work for the in the US trip, but the overseas one it is like in the middle of the trip! And was only time we could go. It is a family vacation. Otherwise would adjust my schedule if possible. Thank you!
