Hi hope everyone is well. I started taken Peg in October 45mg. Went to see consultant a month ago platelets down to 700 from 1100 great news. Went yesterday and what a bang down to earth platelets up over 1000 again. Increased peg to 90 why is it up and down so annoying. ♥️

Hard to say exactly what is going on other than to note the PLT do cycle up and down naturally. Mine always cycled by 250K without treatment. PEG does take some time to do its things. Sometimes patience is what is required. The bump up to 90mcg will certainly have more impact than the lower dose.

I’m in the same boat. Started on 45mcg/weekly in July with platelets at 970. In August platelets were 980 so went to 90mcg/weekly. No response by mid October so up to 120mcg, in November I saw 780. ….what a great feeling! Well December 986 and another dose increase to 150mcg. No question it’s disappointing, I hope we both can see success shortly, as you said “onwards and upwards “

My haemotoligist thinks as I'm transitioning from Essential Thrombocythemia to Myelofibrosis I will be up and down. Hope we both get results we want.
