No reason not to !! Great you have the energy Have a lovely time
Ps as long as you have no symptoms that may be a problem . Ie. blood pressure ok?
I looked into this as I was a keen diver before I was diagnosed. I have not been recently, not due to anything but lockdown and not getting the chance. However I know most proper dive companies will ask you to sign a health declaration before diving that will list blood disorders. I asked my haematologist about this and her response was you should be fine if your figures are good and there was no known reason why we shouldn’t dive. I assume the physiological affects of diving are not affected by MPNs. Unfortunately I don’t think dive companies would take a verbal reassurance as it’s their insurance. So I would try and get a letter from your Haemotology department saying they feel you are ok to dive. Make sure your travel insurance covers recreational diving with your condition.
If you can get hold of the dive companies health firm before you go and take it to show your Haematologist that could help. Most companies have it on their website. Of if they are a Padi or Bsac company it should be readily available.
I had hoped to but the email from my nurse granting permission came too late. When you scuba dive they will take you through a huge time consuming check list then cancer is mentioned!!!! Get a consent letter from your consultant . Good luck.
Like the others. my MPN Specialist said it is fine for me to scuba dive. I would wonder a bit about risk of deep sea diving, but I am not planning to do that anyway. As other suggested, I do plan to have medical clearance documented when I go to get my dive certification.
Enjoy your dive,
Hello, you should tallk to your doctor about that as, if the diving centre is a good one, they will ask you to fill in a medical and sometimes show a doctors letter, that you are fit to dive. Their insurance might demand such thing as well.
I did some a short time back when I spent a day diving & snorkelling on some reefs around Fiji... Awesome!
Just be sure you pass the medical before attempting to do so... You know the breath test drill I am sure...
Love your life, live it large whenever you are able... :-))

Thank you everyone for your comprehensive replies. I will check with my doc first as suggested..
I am a scuba diver with levels 700-800. No meds yet as just diagnosed. Very interested in answers. My doc said no restrictions, but curious how others do with ET and diving.
