I don't think its a bad sign for the drug at all. I was at the Mayo conference where these results were presented, and I think the feeling was excitement at the results. It's possible that dosages simply need to be worked out etc? Its a very new drug, and will need to do at least 2 more large scale trials (so a 3 and a 4) before there is any chance it can go through licensing and certification by the FDA. Also, remember that the patients in the study are pretty advanced cases, with badly compromised systems? However, all that said, its likely showing as the most successful drug for myelofibrosis treatment to date, because it doesn't just treat symptoms, but the actual progression of the disease.

Here is a link to the presentation from the conference in March:

Thank you very much for the answer. This is the first drug that it slows down the progression of the disease? Ruxolitinib doesn do thesame? I am confused

My understanding is that Rux will not repair fibrous bone marrow, but I know there are advocates out there that believe that it may, especially in combination with other drugs. Rux was originally primarily used for palliative purposes. Even a drug like Rux is only several years old, so uses are likely still being defined.

PRM151 on the other hand is showing data that goes a step further in that area, of course it is newer.
