If Broomfield is the hospital in Chelmsford my experience as an observer (not related to mpd) was amazing.

It was for my mum having an operation on her knee. They demonstrated excellent communication skills, they listened, polite and generally a very relaxed and good atmosphere all round.

I hope your new haematology department and staff are as good as that other department.

I would give it a try and if not happy get a referral to Guys and see Prof Claire Harrison. I live in Essex too and I was lucky enough to get a referral and I find it very easy to hop on the train to Stratford and then couple of stops on the Jubilee.
