I think I was treated with the drug as a migraine prophylactic for a few months. As with all similar drugs, I found the side-effects so severe, I had to stop taking it. The only way to proceed is to build up the dose very gradually to see if you can tolerate it.

Flunarizine is fantastic for me. I take it before sleep and I can feel my brain calming down. I have no side effects, feeling only the drowsiness, thats why I am taking it before sleep. The dosage now for me is 10g, once a day. My migraine are reduced by 50% and they are not as severe. I am very pleased! And so much happier!

Many thanks for the replies. I think I'll follow the suggestion (assuming my neurologist agrees!) to start with a small dose and build up gradually. If the side effect are too unpleasant for me, I'll gradually cut down again - to zero!

How did you get on with the Flunarizine? I have been taking it for 5 months and haven't had a migraine for the last 2 and a half weeks. But I'm struggling to handle the side effects and am thinking of reducing the dose or stopping. I am at a loss as to what to do because I obviousky don't want the migraines to go back tonhow they were beforehand.
