Do we all generally feel quite tired most of the time? So frustrating.. Daily headaches just sap your energy
Tiredness: Do we all generally feel... - National Migraine...
Tiredness
Always, everything seems such an effort. After many years and many remedies I am know taking Beta Blockers which are helping.
Have you tried any other preventatives?? Are yours daily headache? Or more migraine?
Yes and yes. I have had acupuncture, seen a chiropractor, osteopath, healer, massage for neck and shoulders but all to no avail.
It's so good (if you get what I mean) to see that someone else out there suffers from tiredness! I have been so wiped out recently that my GP has done a load of blood tests, but they have shown nothing out of the ordinary. He also cut my betablockers in the hope that I'd feel less tired, but that didn't help - although I can now stand up without going dizzy.
I can only conclude that the tiredness is connected to the migraines. I've had a lot of "little" attacks - little in that the headaches have been minimal but I've had the other symptoms and just carried on the best I can. Now that I'm feeling better physically, I have more energy.
Today is the first day in 3 weeks where I haven't needed an afternoon nap (not easy to do when you're at work). I was starting to think I was a freak.
I've had some very stressful events this year and my headaches have become unmanageable almost. I wake up with one most days, when I manage to relieve the pain I'm a different person. I feel alive. I'm due to start a course next week and am so worried about the headaches ruining it. Do you take pain relief? How long have you had headaches and are they daily??
Perhaps the new course will give you something else to focus on so that you are thinking about the headaches a bit less? I know that might sound a bit simplistic, because if it was that easy we could all distract ourselves from headaches, but I think there is something to be said for distractions. I've done short courses (for work and for fun) and some have been a struggle with the migraines, others have been surprisingly fine. Can you have a quiet word with the tutor about it, and take with you whatever you feel need to get you through? Also, if doing something like getting up & going out for fresh air helps, or sitting in a place where you don't need to strain your neck, it's worth explaining this to the tutor.
I have had problems with pain in my face & head for 9 years. I get headaches every day but a lot of the time now I only take pain relief if they persist, are making me feel unwell, are stopping me from sleeping or are a proper migraine and really bad. I take co-codamol & ibuprofen but for no longer than a couple of days at a time. I have botox injections in my face & shoulder for the chronic pain, which means that the headaches are now much shorter (seconds rather than hours), if still unpleasant.
I hope things improve for you. Stress is a horrible thing. Hopefully you will be able to get through this and your health will pick up.
Thank you so much for your message it was such a comfort. I agree with you and am hoping that some diversion will help as I finishe a counselling course in may do therefor the headaches have had my full attention. Fingers crossed. I also have had occipital nerve and Botox injections two weeks ago in my neck, head and shoulders. Can we keep in touch? It's nice to have someone who knows what it's like!!
