Ive had a migraine for 9 days now and... - National Migraine...
Ive had a migraine for 9 days now and nothing seems to be able to knock it. Any suggestions?
Sorry sweetheart, but if you did have a real migraine, you wouldn't be able to stand the glare of a pc/phone screen. It sounds to me, like you have a cluster headache, which is a headache that just stays. My advice is to go see your doctor who can prescribe medication to treat it.
Ah ha ha! but you underestimate my generation. I will check my phone (sometimes even computer) even with a full-on, I-think-gonna-die migraine even when it's the last thing I can cognitively manage to do. My life is on that phone.
Sorry, I sill don't think you have migraine. If you had a true migraine you wouldn't be able to open your eyes, let alone look at a glaring screen. IF you are in as much pain as you say, you would get your parent to take you to the doctor...or indeed they would have got your doctor out to you.
Actually, migraine symptoms can very pretty widely. Having pain in the eyes like you described is very common but not necessary to a genuine migraine diagnosis. Sorry, but your personal experience doesn't define the illness.
As a sufferer for over 40 years, I do know that DElaine85. And I am not so naive as to think that my experience of it is the same as everyone else. I haven't described pain in the eyes, I have just said that the last thing most migraine sufferers would want to do, is take to the internet, staring at a bright screen, if they had a genuine migraine attack! Would YOU? I know it's the last thing I would if I'd had one for 9 days as this user describes. People are all too quick to say they have migraine when all it is, is a bad headache. Throbbing pain at one side of the head, nausea, photophobia and sensitivity to noise, no matter how loud, are all common symptoms. The last place a genuine migraine sufferer would want to be, is sat in front of a bright screen. IF she has been suffering pain for 9 days, then a GP is the place to go or A&E, NOT an internet forum where nobody is an expert and everyone reacts differently to treatments.
To Hidden - you're an idiot!!!
Sumatriptan is good or I take a nasal spray called Zomig. You didn't say what you have tried already? I think maybe you should see a doctor. I hope you feel better soon!

It is possible that you have developed a medication overuse headache. But regardless you need to go back to your doctor (or go if you haven't been).
Cut out all painkillers, especially caffeine and triptans and grit your teeth for fifteen hours of cold turkey. You might also try cutting out all wheat and dairy products at the same time.
You could try this. It may help some. Try a couple of times, maybe, after a break of a couple of hours or so. Keep volume low enough that the tones aren't too hard to bear, adjust to as high a volume as is comfortable. ... ... ... ... ...free-binaural-beats.com/pai.... People have responded to that audio aid within 30 mins of pressing play. For me, some relief comes usually towards the end of the hour, and I'd usually to repeat the session to gain enough help for myself. But the drugs weren't easing things even mildly after a few hours, when this audio file through earphones did.
YOU HAVE TO LISTEN WITH EARPHONES. It is notdesigned to work with speaker output. (Typical of binaural beats audio, other pain relief audio which is not binauaral sounds, may not need headphones and may be fine through speakers. If I'm in bed, after this, I find a white noise or brown noise sound file from Youtube helps me relax and doze off after some time.)
Youtube also has some pain relief audios for free.
