I live in newtownabbey a wee town in northern ireland and I have to say the nhs has have been brilliant so helpful and referred me off to get the right help. My gps office is Whiteabbey hospital and they're fantastic if your gp is not helping you change :)

Difficult to answer the poll accurately, I go to private services because NHS provision is so poor locally, all much too short term with little ongoing support except for sever, chronic and enduring mental health issues, no preventative. Much better in the local city where we hope to move back to!

Just to say, thanks to 'soldier' submitting this Poll. If you want to submit one, you can do by going to "Suggest a Poll"

I have to say that it's very slow waiting for any mental health service. It's taken me 6 weeks just to be assessed and then I've had to wait nearly a month so far to get a call back in regards to my first session of one to one cbt, but could be waiting another few weeks yet, maybe because there's to many people suffering with mental illnesses in the world I don't no.

Feel totally let down by the Mental Health Service's. I also live in Newtownabbey and have received the total other end of No help, advise, service's,doctor's and have been left anting to be dead. So you can see some get everything they need and other's don't..I am not living in that area so I have to see who ever is over my area...

In the beginning I was over-run with crisis teams, then tried counsellors, was clocked in as soon as I opened the door and after 1hr exactly it was time to go. I gave up seeing anybody when one of the doctors told me

If you kill somebody and tell him, he cannot tell anybody.

Just keep taking the pills & suffer in silence.
