Shame it was not posssible to put more than one therapy as each has it's use at different times in a process of emotional, cognitive and behavioural changes.
I agree, as there are a number of options i have tried
I agree. I have had a wide variety of antidepressants and several courses of short-term counselling, which have been very helpful, also self-help books on CBT and mindfulness (for both depression and pain management)
i agree, i have used 4 out of the list and still feel like i need something else.
For me exercise works along with banter with people who have no idea what I am going through. I agree that talking is good, but I find this best with people I don't know as they are more balanced in opinion and support and when friends and acquaintances know of your plight they either run and hide (which hurts) or inadvertently treat you differently when really I want them to be themselves and treat me normally!
i am currently having councling which is help after reaching the end of my tether after 9 month bout
tried it to many times every time i go it always seems to be some one just out of uni what do they no about life ?
I have been on anti-depressants on and off most of my life. Been on them now for about 5 years. They do help. Have had talking therapy and CBT. I still feel depressed though and suicidal at times.
I needed to tick at least 4 boxes on there. All help in their different ways but wish i could say I was 'better.
Yes I am on Antidepressants too, they definitely help, everything helps, but excercise really helps me. I hurt my foot about 2 wks age and cannot walk properly, I am told by Psyio to rest it for three weeks, and I really really miss my walks. I am worried it will not get better, and wonder how I will cope. Today I gave my kitchen a really good clear, this took me 30 mins, and it helped me to feel better. If you make your surroundings nice it helps, having a nice relaxing bath and slipping into a freshly made bed cheers me up too. Everything helps, but of course the Depression is still there, but thats it really, I feel you have to take a bit of everything that helps, be greedy in this regard, and don't give up.
All of them
