Got out of the hospital 2 weeks ago. They gave me no sleep meds. My primary was finally able to get me sleep meds. Having a horrible time sleeping. Currently taking Temazepam. Some nights it helps me sleep 5 or 6 hours. Some nights 3 hours if I'm lucky. The sleep issue is also causing horrible anxiety. Currently taking PARoxetine HC1. Today is day 3 on the new med for anxiety. From what the pharmacist said, it will take 2 weeks to really begin working.

I had (have?) viral Meningitis. It took 2 hospitals to finally diagnose my problem. It was more than 2 weeks before they diagnosed my problem. I was totally out of it for 2 weeks. I was most likely on deaths doorstep until was wife moved me to a better hospital. I fear the length of time for diagnose will ruin my life.

Couldn't walk, now walking just like before. Pretty much back to normal, other than the sleeping issue causing the anxiety.

It’s a horrible virus and can affect you for a long time. It took me over a year to fully recover from VM in 2017. I wasn’t prescribed any sleep medication but did find that meditation and gentle yoga really helped me to relax. There are some great apps out there that you can use to help you sleep too. I hope you continue to improve.
