I would start of with getting some Physical Therapy. They will show you the best methods for gaining your strength back in your legs. As for some exercises you can do on your own....massage your legs. Put ankle weight on, and try to lift. Sit on a stationary bike, and peddle. What you jneed to do is get the blood flowing again so the muscles can recover. After that, I would use a walker with someone behind you with a wheelchair in case you fall back.Hope that helps! Patience and time. You will get there.

I was in the hospital for 6 months with Meningococcal septicaemia & DIC and gradually worked up to being able to shuffle along with the help of a walker there in the hospital hall. When I was released from the hospital, the doctor told me NOT to use a walker! I thought he was crazy!!!! He warned that I would become dependent on it. And he was RIGHT! When I got home (I lived alone), I never used a walker. It was "R-E-A-L slow goin'" but after about 6 months I couldn't wear shoes (too much pain) but I could walk ALONE!

I would suggest you walk...a lot...around your house. Even if you have to just shuffle along...Do it! Don't use a walking aid. Force yourself to keep improving...it WILL happen!
