childcare before and after school plus some occasional days in the holidays

I have an 18 year old young adult son with Fragile X. We are looking to find a carer for before and after school plus some days during the holiday periods. We live in zone 2 in London and don’t know where to start. Circumstances have just changed and I need to have found someone by 15th April. Any advice would be most welcomed 😊 My son still has 1.5 yrs at a special needs school before going to a local special needs college.

Hi Farawayplaces , thanks for your message and welcome to the community. Have you tried getting in touch with your local authority's learning disability team (usually part of the social services department) to see if there's anything they can support with? Or perhaps your son's school might be able to help point you in the right direction?

I'd also recommend giving our Learning Disability Helpline a call on 0808 808 1111 or by email on [e-mail] if you prefer. Our trained advisers should be able to offer some support with where to start the search.
