Hi my previous job before working for the hearing aid implants company was for a debt collection agency as a Correspondence Administrator inputting information on Spreadsheets.
I was there for ten years but unfortunately the workplace became toxic which affected my mental health badly and made me question my worth.
After being made redundant when the company moved to Leeds I rested for a couple of months then I started job searching doing various temporary assignments using my warehouse experience. In between these I had a few interviews for office work/position but never succeeded as while I got great feedback that I sounded like a great candidate they went with someone else. I experienced this with every interview I had and the feedback while positive I found was not helpful as I felt there was nothing I could improve on and could keep going until I succeeded.
Over time I got despondent and wondered if I would ever get another permanent job. I worked for a company who deal with magazine subscriptions who always wanted me back each month when their orders came in for at least six days.
But this wasn’t going to get me permanent work which was a major concern for me.
I eventually got a call from Reed with the offer of my current job on a temporary contract. After proving myself in the position for six months I was offered the job.
I believe until I came along they found it difficult to find someone who could manage the job.
Even with my ability which has improved as I am processing information quicker and stocking up faster and getting lots done there is loads to do and I can’t cover everything the company is aware of this and has got me a helper who works part time to assist me in managing the workload.
It is a great place to work as the company cares about their staff and their mental health and wants them to enjoy their work each and every day.
I am very happy in this job and I want to stay with them.
